WARDOGS Update 0.1.2: what changed

A minor patch by its own title, and the most important one for your wallet since launch. Four ways of earning were cut back, and BULKHEAD changed the punishment for exploiting from a timed ban to a permanent one.

What it does to your wallet

What the post saysWhat it means
“Revive action validity checks are now fully server authoritative, reducing the possibility of this being abusable across the map.”Revives were being farmed. A genuine revive is not touched by the wording; a staged one is now checked by the server, wherever on the map it happens.
“Fixed vehicle fly through exploit, rewards are now capped.”Whatever that loop paid, it now has a ceiling. The cap itself is not published.
“Any rewards for destroying buildables now scale with their build progress - so destroying a placed schematic no longer gives a full reward.”Knocking down a schematic that was placed but never built no longer pays as if it were a finished structure.
“Depositing pallets into a FOB outside the zone now awards reduced rewards.”Supply runs pay best where the fight is. A FOB built away from the zone to farm deposits earns less; how much less is not stated.
“Fixed a Havoc bug causing increased damage taken from 20mm and 30mm cannon fire.”The $18,000 Havoc had been dying faster to cannon fire than intended. Two days later the CIWS was retuned to bring it down twice as fast, so do not read this as the Havoc getting safer.

Bans

What BULKHEAD wroteWhat it means
“We expected season 01 to have several undiscovered exploits, so up to this point we have been more lenient with first time offenders. That leniency is now over.”On 12 September BULKHEAD set a timed ban and a reset of cash and XP for exploiting.
“We have zero tolerance for economy abuse and players now risk being permanently banned without warning if caught abusing repeatable unintended exploits.”From 30 September the same thing can end the account, first offence or not.

Everything else, briefly

  • A fix for the WD-L020 crash that Windows 11 update KB5124010 caused.
  • A new Deploy screen: choose Official, Community, Infantry Mode or Low-Level servers. Advanced filters are back on the Official list.
  • Throwables — grenades, smoke and C4 — can no longer be used from enclosed vehicle seats.
  • Buildable weak spots now appear where you can reach them from where you stand.
  • Community server admins get scheduled restarts and tighter RCON settings.
