WARDOGS mortar calculator
Put your gun and target on the map — Bakurani, Ozeti or Zestafona — and read the distance, bearing and mils to dial for the L81 mortar (132–684 m) or both arcs of the SPH-2 (780–2,629 m).
Click the map to place the target. Drag either marker to move it · one square = 100 m
Dial 525 mils. On the L81, fewer mils fire further: if the round lands short, go down.
The tables assume gun and target stand at the same elevation. A target above you lands the round short; one below lets it run long. Where the terrain lines crowd together between the two markers, expect it.

Range card
Every row the calculator uses, printed in the page — keep it open on a phone or on paper beside the game. Between two rows the calculator draws a straight line.

How the numbers are worked out
For a distance between two rows, the mil setting sits on a straight line between them: M = M₁ + (D − D₁) × (M₂ − M₁) / (D₂ − D₁). At 450 m the L81 table has 446 m at 530 mil and 454 m at 520 mil, so 450 m dials 525.
On the map one square is 100 m, and positions are counted in squares: X grows to the east, Y to the north. Distance is 100 × √(ΔX² + ΔY²) metres. Bearing is θ = atan2(ΔX, ΔY), wrapped to 0–360°; in mils that is θ × 6400 / 360.
Terrain lines are drawn every 20 m of height, with a heavier line every 100 m; the finer lines appear as you zoom in. They show height relative to the lowest point of each map, not above sea level.
The mils are the gun's own sight scale. A NATO chart, or a table from another game, will not line up with them.
Where the tables and maps come from
The firing tables and map data come from the open-source wardogs-calculator project by apollyon-sys, released under the MIT licence — the licence and its copyright notice are reprinted here. They are community measurements — not a BULKHEAD publication.
- Firing tables — data/weapons.json at commit e8d1ee9, rows limited to each weapon's stated range. Measured during the Beta.
- Maps — grid calibration, terrain lines, towers and spawn areas for Bakurani, Ozeti, Zestafona, from the same project. Its authors note the calibration may still be refined.
- L81 maximum range Disputed — this table ends at 684 m; another community calculator publishes 3.1 km for the same weapon. Until someone paces it in the live game, treat anything past 684 m as unknown.
- Patches — weapon behaviour can change with any update. If every round lands off by the same amount, the table may be out of date.
- Not included — terrain correction of the mil setting. The source project has an experimental one; this page works on flat-ground tables.
